Anyways, I keep hearing ominous newscasters talking about these difficult financial times the world is facing. Investors are running scared, scrabbling about to hang onto whatever cash they’ve got.

I poked around to see how much I’d have to spend to get free shipping, and the number for Canadian orders is $120 CAD. Shipping is only $10 flat rate anyway, so I scoffed at the free shipping minimum. There was no way I’d be spending that much money.

Then I thought to myself, if I’m paying $10 for shipping I may as well pick up some other things that I’ll be in need of within the next month or so. I added some body wash to my order. I added some face cream to my order. Just like that, I was up to $90.

Suddenly, $120 didn’t seem so outlandish and far off. I poked around to see if there were any other things that I thought I might like to try – after all, Sephora’s got a fantastic return policy, to encourage shoppers to try try try out new things.

So even though I need them like I need a hole in the head, I added a couple of lipsticks to my order as well.

I got free shipping.

I think it’s time for me to back away from the online stores….
