Anyways, I suppose I lead a pretty sedentary life, because the last time I went skiing was over a year ago. Not wanting that time delay to get longer, this morning I woke up bright and early, packed up my ski stuff, and headed out for the slopes.

It was great! Not too crowded since it was a week day, not too cold. I started out with a few awkward snowplow turns, but then a little switch seemed to go off somewhere, and suddenly my knees were bending in precisely the right way and I was shifting my weight just so, and by the end of that first run I was right back where I left off the last time I went skiing. Notice I don’t claim to be good at it, I’m just saying it felt as comfortable as it did previously. All in all, I enjoyed myself thoroughly, and I didn’t even fall once! We’ll see if I’m sore tomorrow.

And, of course, the million dollar question: will I manage to get back out on the slopes again before 2011?
