For, well, a few years now, I’ve been using dental floss that is microtextured, for superior cleaning. It’s my dentist’s fault – he gave me a little sample to try after one visit, and I got hooked on it. The floss is treated with something that gives off a minty burst sensation between your teeth. They call it a ‘clean burst sensation’. I remember reading the packaging and wondering how beneficial the burst and the microtexture actually were. I like the stuff, though, so I kept buying it.

Recently, I found another floss sample in my bathroom cupboard, and decided that to not use it would be wasteful, so I put it on the countertop with the intent of using it up, then returning to my usual stuff. And like a good girl, I have been using it for about a week now. It’s okay floss. It’s not minty – there’s no burst, but the burst must not be addictive or anything, because I’m not having any withdrawal pangs or anything.

I have noticed, however, that I have a much harder time hanging on to this floss. I’ll dispense a length, wrap it around my fingers, and right away I can feel it slipping and sliding around against my skin. The first couple of nights, I couldn’t figure out why I’d suddenly become so floss clumsy. Then it hit me – this stuff isn’t microtextured. I need that microtexture to maintain a good grip.

There’s no turning back now. Costco needs to start selling it so I can buy in bulk!!!

Despite Sean getting tired of my food posts, I made chili in my crockpot today.

In other news, with the approach of winter, and the super drying effects of colder air and indoor heaters kicking in, I realized that my current body cream is no longer an adequate moisturizer. After every shower, I dutifully spread this stuff over every bit of skin on me – okay, fine, almost every bit – and in the spring, summer, and autumn, it’s great. The bonus kicker is they have a huge scent bar, which is the selection of scents you can have put in your product. So far I’ve tried the Body Souffle in Cinnamon Chocolate Swirl (meh), Frosted Marble Cake (okay), Peppermint Patty (awesome!), Cupcake Batter (wonderful!), and Pink & Black (fantabulous!). They have at least 100 scents to choose from, so you’re sure to find something that appeals to you. ^_^ But, over the summer they reworked their product line (and streamlined their scent bar – there used to be over 600 scents!), and the Hula Girl Body Souffle is no longer available. So my girly dilemma is, I need a more powerful wintertime moisturizer, and I need to look for a new moisturizer for the other seasons.

Yesterday, I happened to be near a Bay store, where they have Origins counters. I’m a big time Origins fan. ^_^ I believe their chemists do fine work, though I’m sure their marketers are even better at their jobs. ^_^ Anyhoo, I had a browse around, and ended up purchasing a tub of their Cocoa Therapy Body Butter. Normally, I don’t like body butters – though they’re amazingly good moisturizers, they tend to be so thick that putting them on is so unpleasant you’d rather just dry up and blow away. But the bit I tried on the backs of my hands spread so easily! So this might be my new wintertime moisturizer. ^_^ We’ll see how it works out. ^_^

Oh, and I almost forgot about the bonus kicker – it’s made with cocoa, so it smells like Tootsie Roll! ^_^
