Some days, good blog fodder is just hard to come by. This is because I have a relatively ordinary, run-of-the-mill life. I have a job that provides me with a modest yet sufficient income. I have done it before, so never say never.

Today, though, when I think back on the mundane little errands I spent my day on, even I’m not that interested, so I know there’s no hope of trying to spruce it up into something bloggable. The only vaguely interesting thing is that I was presented with yet more evidence that crazy runs deep in my genetic code, and probably I am doomed, but at present I’m unwilling to share the details of what that evidence was.

Instead, imagine an exciting escapade for me. Maybe tomorrow something interesting will happen. Or something will happen that makes me think an interesting thought. Or maybe I’ll have an interesting dream. Now that I think of it, last night’s dream was pretty wacky, but the details are sort of hazy. Anyways, An untimely end…..

Some of the plastic came off fairly easily. Other bits were made of different plastic, and are a bit more tenacious in their grip. I’m going to have to find some implement to really scrape away with. Ugh.

The moral of the story? I mean, beyond keep me out of the kitchen.

The problem I do have, the thing that gets my goat, as it were, is that cyclists do not operate within the rules of the roads. I understand that they cannot move at the same speeds as cars, but isn’t that why you’re supposed to ride on the right hand side of the road? Not in the middle of one of the middle lanes? And aren’t you supposed to, you know, stop for red lights and obey all traffic control devices? All the time, I see cyclists cruise along towards a red light, weave around between stopped cars because they can, then ride through a crosswalk to avoid stopping for the light – they use the crosswalk to basically turn left across lanes of stopped traffic and continue on the cross street. This drives me bonkers. We have rules for a reason – if no one obeyed them, there’d be mayhem in the streets. If you’re on the road, follow road rules. If you’re on the sidewalks, follow pedestrian rules. Being on a bicycle does not mean that you are exempt and can do whatever you want.
