The worrisome bit is the volume I have to sift through, and how much I got through in that 45 minutes. Here’s a hint – it wasn’t lots.

Am I worried? Well. Not that worried yet, I guess. I’m not panicking at this point. After all, I should be able to really grind away tomorrow and the next day, and Friday as well. Thursday I have an eye appointment, so my day is interrupted by that, but I should still manage a few productive hours.

At this point I pretty well stopped buying the frozen fries, opting instead to purchase five pound bags of potatoes. When I want fries, I scrub up a few potatoes, slice ‘em up, and give ‘em a frying. Homemade shoestring fries are good, homemade thick cut fries are awesome.

As much as I love my fries, I haven’t actually made any in quite a long time. I think I bought a bag of potatoes in January or so, and have yet to use a single potato – in fact, I’m pretty sure that I need to just throw that bag away and buy a new one, somehow I don’t think those potatoes are still good. I’m sort of afraid to look – I keep the potatoes tucked away in a dark corner, out of sight… I don’t think they’re sentinent yet….

And even though I know I can make super yummy fries at home for less than a dollar for a huge enough-for-six-people dish?

There’s still something deeply satisfying about McDonald’s fries. Oh yum!!!!

I just watched WALL-E again today.

I watched WALL-E today.

Last weekend’s little trip was a nice break. I think it might have given me a bit of a reboot. Some downtime. I’m fully back in the grind now though, and even though in theory this should have been a shorter work week, what with Friday being a holiday and everything, for me it’s not – I perhaps foolishly agreed to work on Friday. Why would I do such a thing? Well, because I sort of need to. So off I will go…

I’m really looking forward to my next getaway. Soon. I’d better get a haircut first…

There’s no zipper – at one point in time I thought a zip closure was a necessary thing, but I’ve realized that even though I have a number of handbags with zips, I never use them – the zips, that is. This handbag has two magnetic snap closures and a snap clasp closure on the middle pocket – these are likely to be more useful for me. Yes, they don’t completely close the handbag, but they do close it more than leaving the zipper wide open does, which is what I do now. This handbag has two straps – I’ve decided that this is a must-have on my handbag. It’s super convenient to dig around in there for things when you can pop one strap off the shoulder, letting the bag hang open, but still have the other strap still on the shoulder to hold the bag up. This frees up both hands for effective digging, and allows you to pull the bag opening away from the armpit, again for effective digging.

Plus it’s got nifty neat looking straps, and is quite distinct from all the handbags currently in my collection.

How’s that for rationalizing?

Not yet convinced that I should give in here? Well, perhaps the wisdom of Ned Flanders will help with that: Sometimes, you’ve just gotta spoil yourself…
