It’s officially May. That period of craziness with the three work contracts is very nearly done. Two of the contracts have been completely wrapped up – except that I owe one of my co-workers $20. The third contract still needs some work – I have a stack of things to review and evaluate, and then there’s some number crunching that will need to be done.

This feels very much like one last final push before my time becomes my time again.

Granted, I won’t be completely work-obligation free – I have another long term project that will require my attention. But it will be oh so nice to be done with having my energy being pulled in so many directions all at once, with me time occurring so sporadically. Remember, I worked 26 straight days in March, and it made me grouchy. Now I know not to try that again if I can avoid it.

I’m so close. Why can’t I just be done already????

In any event, it still needs to get done for this year. And given that today is December 11, it needs to get done promptly now, lest I send out New Year’s cards! Which, by the way, I’ve done before – not because I thought I was being clever and doing something different, but rather because one day I looked at the calendar and realized it was December 23 and there was just no way that those cards would arrive before Christmas!!

This year, I hope to avoid that scenario. But to do so I think I’ll have to get my cards prepped tonight!!!
