Why am I laughing? Because I have just ensured that I will be getting my very own copy of Rockband 2 right when it becomes available for the PS3. How? I pre-ordered it. Yes! I made a phone call yesterday, and learned that it was possible to pre-order the bundles! So I did! Today! Ha!

Now I can sit back and focus on my real work without that feeling of despair gnawing away at the back of my brain, woeful that I will have to wait longer than necessary to play with my new toy.

I’ve also already pre-registered to get my replacement USB power adapter for my iPhone - the one I have has been recalled, as you may have heard elsewhere. I received a text message from Rogers today reminding me to do it, and I thought Ha! I’ve done it already! I’m more organized than Rogers thinks I should be! I’ve also been fortunate in that my adapter has not yet lost its prongs to the wall socket. Knowing my luck, though, that’ll probably happen when I try to remove it so that I can ship it back to Apple once the new one gets here.

In fact, with all these little successes I’ve started to accumulate, I’m starting to wonder if another mulligan day is looming. What’s a mulligan day? Well, it’s a day you want to mulligan on. What’s a mulligan? I’m not sure why I know this, because I don’t watch golf at all, but I do know this term, and it means that you get a do-over on your shot. I’m not sure what circumstances have to be in place to allow a player to qualify for a mulligan, but it’s a do-over. Some days you just want to restart, undo everything that’s happened so far, and just try again. Those are mulligan days. I guess they’re the universe’s way of balancing everything out when things are going just a little too well for a person.

The last mulligan day I had was almost two weeks ago. I got delayed leaving for work, which meant I had to rush. Halfway to work, I realized I’d left the key to my office at home, and since I was rushing, I had no time to turn around to get it. Once I got to work, no one was around who could let me into my office, and I had to dash about in a desperate search to either find someone with a key, or someone who knew the number to security so that they could come let me in. I forgot some stuff I had wanted to work on over the weekend in my office when I left work, only this time I realized I had forgotten when I got home. I then had to rush off to an appointment. I considered spinning by the office after my appointment, but again realized after leaving the house that I had left my office key behind, and again had no time to backtrack to retrieve it.

I’m really not looking forward to my next mulligan day….
