Perhaps most appallingly, the offenders were children. The flip floppers were a couple of girls shopping together, I’d guess they were about 13 or 14. At first, I thought the flip flop girls might be excitedly sporting brand new flip flops, with their sensible winter appropriate footwear tucked into a bag. This hypothesis was quickly dismissed upon observing that the flip flops were clearly not new, and neither girl was carrying a bag that might have contained socks and shoes.

As for the no-pants girl, well, I just puzzled over it. I can’t imagine what would prompt one to remove one’s pants at the mall. So there must have been some very conscious decision to go bare legged.

The oddest thing was that all three youngsters were accompanied by parental type folks, and in both cases the parent type was dressed in a weather appropriate fashion…
