Anyways, on a more serious note, and as you know, I don’t have cable, or the antenna set up on my TV – everything I watch is either on a disc I own or viewed through the computer. Nor do I subscribe to a newspaper. Nor do I listen to news radio. So it shouldn’t be surprising that I tend to be out of the loop more often than not when it comes to world news. And national news. And local news…..
Over the weekend, though, I heard about the flooding going on in Iowa. It’s bad. Really bad. And this matters to me, because a dear friend of mine is in Iowa.
So today, I poked around online a little to read up about this flooding. And I read that it has affected the University of Iowa’s campus. And much of Iowa City, which is where my friend lives – in all likelihood, near the university. Now I am worried about her. I want to call her and make sure she’s okay, but at the same time I don’t want to harass her – I’m sure she’s got loads of things that she’s dealing with right now. X_x I sent her an email, but who knows when she’ll be able to see it, never mind respond to it. From what I read today, I’m pretty sure she would have been evacuated from her apartment.
I really hope she’s okay!!! I also realize that with the number of people reading this blog, at least of few of you would be affected by the floods, so I hope it gets better for you too!!
