Okay guys – still making up for my lack of posts, I figured it’s about time I put up another one of these Partyhardcore galleries! It’s amazing how much my traffic drops when I start posting every second day!! I’m even going to post tomorrow, despite it being a late Friday night!! (already 3:00am here!!!).. Anyways, my father doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth. It’s not that he actively dislikes sweet things, he could just live without them, and likes his sugar in somewhat smaller doses. So my mother got into the habit of serving cakes and cupcakes without icing, probably after he commented a few times about how nice the cake was without the icing. So I became accustomed to cakes without icing, since that was typically what I got as a kid – on the odd times when there was icing, it wasn’t really icing, it was sort of a topping made of sweetened whipped cream, sometimes with some cherry pie (minus the cherries) filling in it for colour and flavour.

Apparently, this is not the way the world in general thinks. I was once informed that a cupcake without icing is just a muffin, something I disagree with – muffins pretend to be healthy, cupcakes are unapologetically treats. ^_^

Whatever the case may be, I now make sure that when I plan on making cupcakes, in addition to the cake batter mix I also buy icing and sprinkles to top the cupcakes. ^_^ And because these are the sorts of things that I buy on sale since they pretty much last forever, this means I have icing on hand all the time. Today I made cupcakes with rainbow bits in them, and I had to open a new tub of icing. The remainder is now in my fridge. Howeverm once the tub is open, it doesn’t last forever. That means that I have to make more cupcakes relatively soon. I think next time they’ll be chocolate!! ^_^
