I haven’t gotten much done lately. No movement on my papers in terms of writing – all I have is that page and a half that I jotted down in the middle of the night last week. I should probably email my supervisor to start the ball rolling on that, in terms of committee selection and things of this nature.
I haven’t been doing housework either. Well, I mopped the kitchen floor on Monday. But that’s about it. Okay, today is only Wednesday. But I had thought I might get some laundry done today, and I didn’t, and I was thinking I would vacuum tomorrow, but I also want to do a bit of shopping – I need a new pair of boots! Well, okay, maybe I just want a new pair of boots. ^_^ My current pair may have sprung a leak, but that can always be repaired, I’m told. Nevertheless, I am going out in search of new boots. And/or new shoes. And/or new sandals, if I find some on an end of season clearance. ^_^ I also got a $10 gift certificate in the mail for a store I never go to, but the flier they sent with it had a potentially cute sweater and a potentially cute handbag in it, so I’m going to go check those out too. ^_^
Credit cards are dangerous items. ^_^
BTW – some of you may wonder what I feel about the shooting at the CEGEP (Dawson’s College) today.. I don’t know yet.. I don’t think it’s really hit me!

If I may just take a moment to examine the Liz Vicious credo, as she knows the “goth” lifestyle far better than any of my emo friends: “For all you guys & girls who like goth girls, you won’t be disappointed! I really live the life.. (it’s true I sleep most of the day!!).. and I love all sorts of dark and naughty things – from dark comedies to Tim Burton style horror, to getting tied up and given a good spanking!”
I’m assuming that, by “Tim Burton style horror”, she must be referring to “Batman”, “Big Fish” and “Planet of the Apes”, three of the SCARIEST films I’ve ever seen, and certainly as “dark and naughty” as, say, the underground films of Jerome Kern, or the cult German necrophilia grossouts like “Nekromantik”. I believe that Liz Vicious is SO goth, and therefore so jaded, she transcends true horror and finds the deep black hearts of films like “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and, dare I say, “Corpse Bride.” I’m sure Liz also listens to Evanescence, and shrugs off any references to Ian Curtis and Peter Murphy with a simple “Like, they’re my DAD’S age!” Still, she has a mighty fine pussy.
It should also be noted that, if “sleeping most of the day” is truly “living the life” of a goth, then I’m even darker than Trent Reznor.
