Okay guys, here’s another Gigi Spice gallery for you… I’m betting most of you would spend an incredible amount of money to join these three latina babes!!! And by incredible, I mean an *incredible* amount…

Now personally, I wouldn’t spend a dime….. but, if they were sent over to my place, helped out around the house for a bit, I’d definitely frolic naked with them for a bit!! Or maybe, if they flew me down for an all expense paid trip, I’d also shed my clothes, and let these little Latina teens have their way with me!

Anyways…. Adventures in the land of no labels…

Yesterday, as you know, I attempted to make some soup. Homemade soup, not the stuff you reheat from a can. The recipe said I’d need a 5 to 6 quart Dutch oven.

Now, maybe you are one of the fortunate ones who has a sense of what size things are. I am not one of those lucky people. Today someone was telling me about a 900 foot tower. I said, “Wow.” Then thought a bit, then asked for a comparable object to give me a sense of scale. I understand enough to know that 900 feet is tall, but how tall? Is it as tall as the average commercial highrise building? Two of them?

So the instruction line telling me to fetch a 5 to 6 quart Dutch oven was a bit mysterious.

I started rooting around in the cupboard. Fortunately for me, I bought several Anolon pots in a set, and Anolon is nice enough to stamp the bottoms of the pots with their sizes (capacities?) in both imperial and metric – handy since my cookbooks sort of come from both measurement camps. My large Dutch oven pot is an 8 quart – too big. The next largest one I had was a 3 quart – not big enough.

Then I spied my Kitchen Aid cast iron enameled Dutch oven – essentially a Le Creuset knock off, though it seems weird to refer to something made by Kitchen Aid as a knock off. It’s smaller than the 8 quart, seemed bigger than the 3 quart. I wondered, might this be the magical baby bear just right one?

I pulled it out of the cupboard, and took a peek at the bottom. Nothing. I lifted the lid and looked inside the lid, and in the pot itself. Nothing. I’m sure there was a size on the box it came in, but that box is long gone to recycled heaven.

So there I am, with this Dutch oven on my stovetop, wondering if it’s going to be big enough to make my soup. I put some of the ingredients beside it, and try to visualize whether they will completely fill or overflow the pot. I’m terrible at this sort of visualization, so I don’t keep up with this exercise for very long. I decide I’ll give it a shot.

Then I have this vision of soup bubbling over and spilling all over the stovetop, down the sides and onto the floor, and I chicken out and switch the mystery pot for the 8 quart.

Once the soup was fully assembled and simmering away, I looked into my pot, saw that there was room to spare, but also figured that I probably had more than would have fit into the mystery pot. I’m glad I made the switch. I think that mystery one might have a 3.5 quart capacity.

Oh, the adventures I have….

I know, i know.. I can probably use one pot to measure the amount in the knockoff…. ^_^
