Tuesday, I made cookies. ^_^ Not just any run of the mill, straightforward but still delicious chocolate chip cookies. Not cheater cookies.
I made chocolate-covered-cherry cookies. With Jim talking about how he made them, I just couldn’t delay any longer… I went out to the store, and got all the ingredients I need!
These aren’t that hard to make, but they’re fiddly – not only do you need to put together the dough, you also get to play with maraschino cherries, one for each cookie, and you have to melt down chocolate and combine it with sweetened condensed milk and cherry syrup to make the chocolatey coating. Assembly of each cookie happens in three parts – first, you shape the dough into a little ball, then flatten it like a thumbprint cookie, leaving a divot in the middle. Then, you drop a cherry in the divot. Then, you smother the cherry, but not the entire cookie, with chocolatey coating. Repeat 47 times for a total of 48 cookies per batch.

But they are so, so worth it. ^_^

I agree..they are fiddly yet worth it! I had planned to make a second batch this week. It looks like i wont have the time for all that fiddlyness until sunday
Just curious..do you have the will-power to sit down and eat just one or two? or could it be.. once you start eating them you have a hard time stopping??
Lordy lordy, that Benny and JoonMali sure is CUT! That’s one heck of a stomach on that girl, which I’m sure is a result of a strict workout routine, lots of fish and rice, and slitting the throats of white missionaries who wander into her village. I often wonder who would win in a naked wrestling match between Joon and Raven O’Riley, and then I realize that the answer is me.
Speaking of Riley, Kaori, I’m up to Season 5 in Buffy – the one where Dawn and Glory Hole appear, and – thank GOD – Riley goes away, hopefully for good. Who would you say is the hottest one on the show?

As for Riley, he comes back once more… and then is gone for good!
I got kind of tired of Dawn’s ‘squeaks’, I like the addition of Spike though!
