Anyways, one nifty thing about Rockband is that while your song is loading, the game will frequently put up a little trivia tidbit about whatever band originally played the song you’re about to play. That is, when it’s not giving you gameplay hints, or the ever useless The louder the better!….

I’ve learned all kinds of little random tidbits. Like the fact that the members of Bang Camaro pooled together have over 49 paternity suits filed against them in Canada and the northeastern US (lucky guys??). Or the fact that Sharon Osborne was for a period of time the manager for the Smashing Pumpkins. Or that Kurt Cobain failed his first audition for a grunge band. Or that the Queens of the Stone Age were originally called Gamma Ray, but that name was taken, and that in the lifetime of the band there have been 25 members. Or that the lead singer of VAGIANT plays World of Warcraft, and the other band members tease her mercilessly for it. The game even told me which server she plays on! But it didn’t give out her username.

My current favourite, though, involves Molly Hatchet – yes, I spelled it incorrectly earlier… Apparently, this band got their name – Molly Hatchet – from the name of a mythical Southern prostitute who would decapitate her customers. X_x OUCH!!!
