Anyways, I’ve never worked a retail job. So while I have had jobs that required me to go in on Saturday, never ever have I had to work Sunday. Sure, I’ve had to do schoolwork on Sundays, but that can be done at home, so if it strikes my fancy I can stay in pyjamas all day. My family never went to church. Sundays were typically home days.

Perhaps because of the many years of this sort of routine, I’ve got this association in my head where Sunday means sleeping in, bumming around in various states of dress, and generally taking it easy.

Today, however, a work-related appointment dragged me out of bed – not really early, but earlier than I typically get up on Sundays – and forced me to make myself presentable so that I could go out in public without feeling incredible shame as small children point and scream while adults try desperately to avert their eyes. Then I actually had to leave my warm cocoon of a home and go out into the world.

I don’t think I’ll be seeking any form of retail employment anytime soon. I like my easy Sundays!!!
