Anyways, what an age we live in….. Saturday, I woke up, had breakfast at home, rounded up some things in a suitcase, and headed for the airport.

At the airport, I boarded a plane.

That plane landed in Vancouver (Japanese Mecca in Canada), roundabout 3:30 PM local time.

I had a wonderful Japanese tapas dinner at Kingyo Izakaya (in downtown Vancouver, on Denman Street).

After dinner, I got a bubble tea from Bubble Mania, right on Robson Street, and then made my way to the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal. I had to wait about an hour and a half before I was allowed to board a ferry – they were only sailing once every two hours.

I spent about an hour and a half on the ferry.

I arrived in Nanaimo, then made my way to Mill Bay.

In a span of 24 hours, I travelled huge distance – how long would it have taken back in the day when there were no planes, automobiles, or big reliable boats?

I must say, I’m glad I live in an age of high efficiency travel.
