In what I believe to be a tremendous display of self control and restraint, I am pleased to announce to the world at large that I have not plowed my way through all my brandy beans. I knew I needed to do it – there was no way out that didn’t involve takeout food, which, by the way, I haven’t had since last Monday – how’s that for more self control? I was still at a point in the day, though, where I could procrastinate on it – I could wander off and do something else, then come back to it later, and still end up eating dinner at a reasonable hour – you know, not 10 PM. So I had a choice – scrub up now, or scrub up later?
I started thinking along my usual procrastipath, and then a little voice chimed in. It said, Hey! If you behave and get the kitchen cleaned up right quickfast, you could treat yourself to a brandy bean afterwards!
I thought the little voice seemed sensible, and promptly filled the sinks with water for washing.
I wonder how long this will continue working – or how long before all my self control dissolves completely and I’m hunkered down in a corner, snarling at anyone who tries to take my boxes of brandy beans away.
