Anyways, I bought new tires for my car today. They were expensive, but the ones that were on there before were over five years old, and the car seems to slip a bit more than it used to in slippy conditions. Since winter driving comes with a higher incidence of slippy conditions than driving the rest of the year, I figured it’s a good time for this kind of splurge – the cost of the tires is less than the cost of an accident!
When I dropped the car off for the install of the new tires, they asked me if I wanted them to simply discard the old ones for me. I said that depended on what sort of condition the old tires were in – after all, they didn’t look completely bald to my inexperienced eyes, so if there was still a fair amount of tread left I could keep them and get these put back on for the summer months. When I returned later to pick up the car after the install, I asked about those old tires. They told me that the tires had had 3/32 of tread left on them, which is very little. You’re supposed to seriously consider replacing your tires when you get down to 5/32… The mechanic had actually written on the work order for my car: “3/32 of tread left – not worth it”. So while I was right about the tires not being totally bald yet, I did not insist on keeping them. ^_^
Now I almost want some good slickery driving conditions to test out my new tires in. ^_^

wow, 5 years??? that’s nuts! LOOOONG time. This “goth” post has me thinking about a recent observation, which is that goth seems to be more mainstream, with defined, but less risque stylings. This girl looks almost normal!
well, when you wake up, you can go out for a ride as it is snowing here. didn’t want to wake you. also, change my tires, too. and check the oil. and make sure the fluid levels are okay. and make sure the eggs aren’t runny like they were this morning. and, well, you know.
