Okay – here’s another gallery from MoneyTalks – where they pay people to do stupid things…. In this instance, we see a guy paid to shave his head, and a girl paid to have sex..

Anyways, on the them of shopping, a couple of weeks ago there was a Wii demonstration kiosk set up at a nearby mall – the same one I was just shopping at…. They had six or eight stations set up, each showcasing a different game. I got to watch the goings-on for a little bit – had I had more time, I might have actually worked up the courage/nerve to go up there and give it a whirl. As it was, I just observed.

The games were all cutesy – no super-realistic first person shooters where you start with an alarming arsenal of weapons at your disposal. For someone like me, that’s totally fine. The gameplay is something I’m now pretty keen to try – I was interested before, but now I’ve seen that there are a variety of ways to hold that motion-sensing controller, all of which impact the kinds of motion you can make it do, and the games are set up to take advantage of that. Neato mosquito! ^_^
I watched a girl, about ten years old or so, pick up one of the controllers and become completely befuzzled by the game. Within two minutes, she handed it off to a boy, about seven years old, I’d guess, who reminded me of my little brother in his younger days, but this little guy didn’t bounce as much as my brother did. My brother was really fun to watch play video games when he was a sprout. You’d sit him on the couch, and hand him the controller, making sure there was lots of play in the cord. Let him start playing. As he works his way through the level, his legs will start to bounce up and down, like his feet are doing push ups. Eventually, he works himself up to the point were he’s bouncing in his seat. And then, he gets to the end-of-level boss battle, at which point he would stand up and start jumping up and down on the spot as he played. ^_^ Who says playing video games leads to inactivity? ^_^

Oh yes – and now I want a Wii. ^_^
