Tomorrow is Canadian Thanksgiving. The day when Canadians gather with family members to enjoy turkey, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie. Well, if you’re like me, then you get apple pie instead, because you and I don’t like pumpkin pie.

Since for me, family is two time zones away, Thanksgiving is a quiet affair, and has been ever since I found myself living two time zones away from my immediate family. A turkey seems excessive for just one person unless I want to eat nothing but turkey for two weeks solid, so I’ve have been having some other chicken-based dish. I think last year was chicken pot pie. I think the year before was KFC.

This year, I had some deli sliced oven roasted turkey breast in the fridge and some swiss cheese and some bread, so I put together turkey swiss melt sandwiches in the panini press.

I suppose the ‘real’ Thanksgiving dinner will be leftover Zachary’s pizza from my trip to Plattsburgh yesterday. No poultry there – although BBQ chicken pizza is good, provided there’s no bacon.
