Okay guys, here’s another of the niches I quite enjoy…. Drunk girls partying, kissing other girls, flashing their breasts, etc…. It’s like Partyhardcore – it’s fun to watch people lose their inhibitions as they consume more alcohol….

Anyways, I spent a rather substantial portion of my afternoon today baking up some cookies – a double batch of these shortbread cookies with little toffee bits in them. My cousin gave me the recipe, and she found it online – what she gave me was a printout of the webpage. I could go get it and link it here, but it’s waaaaaaay over there in the kitchen.

I made a double batch because I was making the cookies primarily as my contribution to a potluck dinner I went to tonight – work folks gathering in a social setting. I had heard there would be roughly 25 people there, and figured that some folks might want to have two cookies, and really any leftovers could be kept by the hostess for herself and her family, so I took 44 cookies with me. Since I’m selfish, and like to have cookies for myself when I take the time to bake some up, I made a double batch. I should have had 96 cookies again, but I think I ended up with 88. Which is fine – my cookie jar is full again.

As one of the trays baked up and filled my kitchen with warm, yummy, vanilla-ey smells, I reflected a bit on my potluck contribution. I very typically volunteer to bring cookies to potlucks. In my old apartment, they were Costco-bought cookies, because I didn’t want to store flour and sugar since there was that Pharaoh ant problem, but since moving out I’ve been baking cookies for these sorts of occasions – not that they pop up very often or anything.

Cookies really are an ideal potluck dish. I don’t have to worry about keeping it warm or cold as I make my way to the party. I don’t have to do any last minute assembly at the party. I don’t have to do any preparation or make demands of my host’s kitchen to get my dish ready. And who doesn’t like cookies?

Hmm. Now I want one. Nomz.
