Anyways, I’m trying to make a delicious spinach lasagna right now. I’ve mixed up the filling. All I need to do is open up the jar of pasta sauce, mix it with some water, and then I can assemble the lasagna and it’ll be ready to bake.
The problem? The stinking jar! ;.;

I’ve found that Classico pasta sauce is the nicest tasting, so that’s what I invariably end up buying. I bought two jars of Ragú once on a sale about a year ago, and there’s still one sitting on my shelf, which tells you just how much I want to use that last jar. ^_^
Flavour aside, though, Classico loses some serious points because of their jars. They are so freaking hard to open! I’m not exactly bursting with upper body strength to begin with, but these jars are particularly difficult. I run the top under hot water, then dry it off completely. I bang the handle of a butter knife against the lid all around the circumference. And yet it still won’t open! ;.; I twist and grip and strain until my wrists ache, especially the left one for some reason, and nothing.
And then I get frustrated and seriously contemplate smashing the thing open….. It’s delayed my dinner by an hour..
Now I’ve never actually done that. Usually I can manage to convince it to open. However, sometimes that convincing involves piercing the lid with a sharp object to break the vacuum seal… Maybe I should just do that all the time from now on? ^_^ It would save my aching wrists…

Buy an ice pick and you get to puncture it with force. If you want to save the jar put a spoon handle in the gap where the glass meets the metal and pry GENTLY, you break the seal and the jar opens with no strain. By the way you eat some nasty sounding stuff….spinach lasagna (ick). Do they serve frito pie up there? Your chili question made me think of this.

As for Frito Pie.. never heard of it!
Heat chili (2 cans) and onions (1/2 med onion or to taste)
Layer slightly crunched fritos in a 9×9 glass dish
Layer cheese on top of that
Layer chili on top of that
Another layer of fritos
Another layer of cheese
Another layer of chili
Top with cheese
Bake until cheese is all melted
The only veg that works with this is fries or salad
