Okay guys, so if this young Russian teen was entering a beauty contest, do you really think it would be a contest??? I’m thinking that she would easily win almost any contest she entered!!! Anyways, I finally developed the courage to wail…

As I probably mentioned before, Rockband comes with not just a guitar, but also a set of drums and a mic, so you can play multiplayer in which one person plays the guitar, one plays the drums, one sings, and if you happen to have a second guitar, someone can also play bass. ^_^ Very cool idea, and I’ve been playing a fair bit with the guitar and the drums - I’m pretty solid on medium level on the guitar, seriously thinking about trying hard now, and I can hold my own on medium drums too, though I’m not yet at that point where I think I maybe should try out hard. ^_^

Until yesterday evening, though, I hadn’t tried the mic - hadn’t even taken off its plastic packaging. This is because even though I like singing, and have an ongoing fantasy that I actually can sing in such a way that other people would enjoy hearing me sing, I’m not really convinced that singing is something that I do well. And when you’re the singer in Rockband, your scoring is based on your accuracy in hitting the note sequences they put up there for you. Put short, I didn’t feel like I wanted to have a video game tell me that I can’t sing….

Still, I finally gave it a try last night. I got off to a shaky start - got booed off the stage once, and came very close to it again. But then I started to get the hang of it. ^_^ I was playing on medium, too. ^_^ The big problem is not being sure what note the game really wants me to be hitting if it’s a song I don’t really know, which is the case for most of the songs in the game…. So as I get more familiar with the music, I would imagine my scores will only go up. ^_^

I still like playing the guitar and the drums better, though. ^_^
