Anyways, I’m facing a dilemma…. Christmas 2006 – I receive a gift card for Starbucks, with $25 on it. It’s very pretty, but there’s one problem – I don’t drink coffee. Ever…. But no problem. I know someone who loves, and I mean loves coffee, so I now have a nice little gift to give her come Christmas 2007. I tuck the card away for safekeeping.
Fast forward to a random day in the summer of 2007, and I happen to be out for lunch with my friend, and he doesn’t want to go back to work just yet, he wants a Starbucks coffee, so we wander over to Starbucks, where he insists on buying me a coffee too. I tell him that I don’t drink coffee. He says, really? I say, yes, really. He then says, well, get a hot chocolate or something, anything you want, I’m buying!
Ooooh. Hot chocolate….
So my friend buys me a hot chocolate. And I sip it slowly and carefully, and it lasts me a good long while – after all, you can’t exactly chug scalding hot beverages. I think I even blogged about this hot chocolate earlier. It was not like the usual hot chocolates – it wasn’t overly sweet, and it had a strong, almost bitter aftertaste, like really good dark chocolate, the kind that is at least 60% cocoa. It was very good. ^_^
Then along came Christmas 2007. And I had a dilemma on my hands. Do I follow through with my original plan in regifting the Starbucks card? Or do I keep it for my own use, and enjoy at least five of those hot chocolates?
Well, I still have the card – a different gift presented itself as an option, and I went with it. I could still give her the card as a birthday gift, though – the birthday is in April.
That is, unless I decide to keep the card for myself. ^_^
