Anyways, I have a couple (2) of cordless phone handsets. A few months ago, one of them started acting funny – it wouldn’t always ring, even though the display told me that it still had two of three bars of battery life on it. Stranger still, sometimes it would start to ring, but then stop ringing… When that happened, if I tried to answer using that handset, it would tell me that I was too far away from the phone base, and that I needed to move closer for it to work. Thing is, it would tell me this even when I was standing right beside the phone base! Charging it seemed to help – it would be okay for a while after a full charge, but start acting up again when it got down to two bars.
So I got a new battery for it. Swapped the batteries, charged it up, and it seemed to work fine…. For a while…. It just started acting up again, just like it did before. Now, it could still be the case that it’s the battery being strange, and replacing it will do the trick. Or could it be a bigger problem with the phone handset itself?
As I type, the handset is charging with a new battery in it. We’ll see how things go. ._.
I’m blaming the Ebay battery… It *says* Energizer – but it’s probably a made in China counterfeit!
