Not in real life, really, but in interviews. For example, I was watching an interview just the other night, and I noticed that interviewee did the one-shoulder shrug sometimes – when she was speculating. If there’s any truth behind what Lie to Me is telling us, the one-shoulder shrug is supposed to indicate a lack of confidence in the statement being given. When she was recounting events as they happened from her perspective, her shoulders didn’t move. When she was asked what she thought the motivation of others involved in the events were, one of her shoulders practically started dancing.

I wonder how one could go about learning what Cal Lightman knows – if, that is, this stuff is actually true. And then, I wonder what sort of market exists for human lie detectors? Lightman seems to have a pretty decent lifestyle on the show…

I saw Iron Man 2 today.

It’s sort of a Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon sort of game I play, except that I never end up on the page for Kevin Bacon, oddly enough.

I wonder, though – who decides which image is going to be the main one for a given actor? Is it the actor? His or her agent? A team of people at IMDb? Users voting from a fixed set? An image selected by an anonymous user, that can be changed by any other user at any given point in time?

The reason I ask is because some of the main images are pretty bad. Some appear to be rather out of date, others are wildly unflattering. For some individuals, there’s an image gallery with snippets that appear near the top of the page, yet there is no main image.

If the actors or their agents are responsible for selecting that main image, then I would tactfully suggest that some individuals should seek professional assistance in image management. Of course, in the case of the wildly unflattering shots, if they were willing to be photographed in that state, then probably they need all the help they can get anyway…

I’ve been thinking off and on about trying yoga for a while now. Then again, I don’t really want to take a class. If I’m going to be doing something in a group class setting, I want to have a chance of being good at it. Since I am not particularly flexible at this point in time, my chances of being good right off the bat are rather slim. Also, it seems you need to be barefoot to do yoga, and I’m not sure how comfortable I am with the idea of going barefoot on a surface that someone else has been barefoot on very recently. Think they’d let me wear Crocs?

Maybe I should get a yoga video game for the Wii or PS3? That might be close enough to instruction to keep me from killing myself, but still be done in the privacy of my own home.

Maybe I should try something else? Take up running or something? The chances of me quitting in that scenario are almost a certainty. I don’t like running.

Maybe if I practiced enough I’d get good at it, and then I’d start liking it more? I’m definitely bad at it now.

Phew, all this exercise contemplation is wearing me out. Time for bed.
