Maybe it happened in the car on the way home from Costco oh so long ago? But Costco is a fairly short drive away – fifteen minutes, tops.

Well, they’re still tasty, so I suppose I shan’t worry about it too much.

Anyways, the futility of planning…

I went for a haircut yesterday. Which means that I have recently known the bliss of having someone manipulate my hair around, I felt the joy of the new swing of newly shortened hair, and today I’m eyeballing myself in all reflective surfaces wondering if it’s shorter than last time (probably not) and if I’ve made a huge mistake (also doubtful).

I was actually planning on holding off on this haircut until mid March or so, but my stylist is 7 months pregnant, and late stage pregnancy can be unpredictable, so I thought I’d better play it safe and get the cut sooner rather than later. Given that she will likely have the baby in April at some point, I figured it would be a while before my next cut – she mentioned wanting to keep up part time work and not take too much time off, but I figured I shouldn’t count on her being available for several months.

So I sat down and had a think. This shorter do tends to get shaggy looking as it grows out, but during the summer months I tend to not have any contract work, which means pigtails and ponytails are totally an option for dealing with unruly hair. A plan formed – I could just let my hair grow over the summer, and in mid to late August I could see about getting a cut before starting up with real work again in the fall. Plus, this had the added benefit of shifting my haircut schedule around a bit – instead of wanting a cut in November, I won’t want another one until late December or early January, and then the next one will want to come in late April or so. This seemed like a good plan.

Turns out, though, that she’s only taking 6 weeks off after she has the baby, and then she plans to return to the part time schedule. So getting a haircut in late June or early July would have been completely doable.

Oh well. We’ll see how it goes. I may try to hold off till August anyway….

It also started to look dirty, and I decided that it must be time, and gently peeled the piece right off. As promised by the film manufacturer, no adhesive remained after the film had been removed.

And? I ran my finger along that exposed bit of surface, felt how smooth and slick it was, and instantly remembered what it was like when the whole device felt like that. It made me want to strip all of the wrapping off… It just feels more natural without the wrapping!

For now, though, what’s left of the wrapping remains in place. I may remove it over the summer, though, and let the scratches come as they may – at that point, my iPhone will be two years old!

I’m not saying I don’t like my life – I like being me a whole lot, as it turns out. I’m merely acknowledging that there may be days where things that I think are interesting really aren’t, and I’ll still blog them because I think they’re interesting, but it totally wasn’t blog fodder. If I were willing to photo document evidence of my clumsiness for the webiverse that might liven things up, but I’m a prideful, prideful girl, so there’ll be almost none of that. I have done it before, so never say never.

Today, though, when I think back on the mundane little errands I spent my day on, even I’m not that interested, so I know there’s no hope of trying to spruce it up into something bloggable. The only vaguely interesting thing is that I was presented with yet more evidence that crazy runs deep in my genetic code, and probably I am doomed, but at present I’m unwilling to share the details of what that evidence was.

Instead, imagine an exciting escapade for me. Maybe tomorrow something interesting will happen. Or something will happen that makes me think an interesting thought. I can’t believe that January 2010 is nearly over and done.

My father would watch hockey, but I have the attention span of a flea when it comes to hockey, so pretty well as soon as the puck drops I’ve leapt from my spot on the couch to find other forms of entertainment. For whatever reason, we never really sat and watched Summer Olympic events together, and the Winter Olympic viewing has sort of stopped – I think the last Games we watched together was the games in Lillehammer. That’s a really long time ago.

Maybe I’ll pay attention this time around. Then again, maybe not. February’s going to be busy. Eck.
