I’m also not sure how I feel about paying for produce that I might not eat.

I do use eyeshadow, but I typically buy one every couple of years or so, depending on how much I like a given shade.

I do use mascara.

I do use an eyebrow pencil, but these last so long I think I buy one every five years or so.

I do use lipstick or lip gloss. I have a fair number of these. I don’t think it’s ridiculous yet, but I may be a bit biased in assessing the damage there. I’m still anxiously waiting for those Stila lip glazes I ordered last week.

That doesn’t seem excessive to me. I suppose there are folks who would say I use a lot of makeup, but given the wide variety of things that can be purchased, and how many of them I don’t even give a second thought, I think I’m on the light end of the spectrum….

In 2007, I got a great little tube of Bliss Naked Body Butter. In 2008, I got a little bottle of Sephora brand body wash. This year, they’re giving out little Sephora brand lip glosses. I liked 2007′s goodie the best.

In any event, I get all these tempting emails. Well, perhaps I shouldn’t call them tempting, because generally speaking, they don’t make me click madly while reaching for my wallet. They’re not totally useless though – I was quite happy to see the 15% off anything coupon that came through a while back.

A recent one had a US only offer in it that I thought was sort of interesting, but couldn’t take advantage of – and then I spotted a wee something in the bottom corner. It was a loyalty program exclusive – a set of three trial-sized Stila lip glazes, in three nice neutral shades. For $8 USD.

Ooh. I like lip stuff.

After some investigating, I learned that the price was $9.14 CAD plus GST and shipping, and that the set was not available in stores in Canada. If I wanted it, I’d have to order online. If I ordered online, unless I was planning on throwing $120 CAD at them, I’d have to pay $9.95 CAD for shipping as well.

That’s less of a deal.

I like to think of myself as a pretty easy-going kind of person. I like to believe that while I may find things irksome, I don’t let them really bother me.

I share an office with two other people. Today, I stashed some things in my drawer, and then went to another workspace to, well, work. Well. This makes me glad that there’s only a month left in this work contract.

Oh well. Until someone decides that I should be paid for my gaming time, I will have to grin and bear it. It’s not so bad. I don’t hate my job. I’ll readjust to the working schedule.
