I watched WALL-E today.
I quite enjoyed it. It was a fun little movie. I had heard that there was no dialogue in it, and while there is very little, there’s still some. Since I wasn’t expecting any, that small bit surprised me.
I know that we’re supposed to get really attached to both WALL-E and EVE in the movie, but I sorta liked M-O the best. I’d love to have my own M-O. Just trucking along, cleaning up after me, seeking to eliminate all Foreign Contaminants from my home. I’ve got my Roomba, but it’s no M-O.
My mother tells me this story from when I was a toddler. She had taken me to the playground for the first time, and there were some other children playing in the sandbox. I was told I could play in the sand with the other kids, but I was having none of that. I touched some sand, and then came back to my mother with my hand extended, looking for a tissue to wipe it clean. She obliged, but says that then I took off with the tissue towards the other children, holding it out so that they could clean up as well.
Sigh. I totally want a M-O now.
