Anyways, it’s been a week since I stopped with that antibiotic ointment for the mystery pain in my nose. Pain’s still gone, but itchiness persists. It seems to be focusing on my elbow pits, along with occasional flareups in my knee pits, and there was one night last week, I think it was Thursday night, where my feet also got all red and inflamed looking. I’ve been taking Reactine, but it doesn’t seem to do much. Of course, for all I know it’s working wonders and I’d be way worse off if I weren’t taking it.
I was advised by a walk-in clinic doctor to go to my doctor and get a recommendation to see a specialist to figure out what’s causing this itchy rash. I’m tired of being a medical mystery – I want to know what’s going on. I had some blood work done in early December 2008, and those results all came back normal. I also have some swollen lymph nodes – two on my neck that I noticed, and the doctor located some more in my armpit area. Again, blood work says no reason for alarm or concern, but still I’d like to know what’s up with that too. I’m at an elevated risk for a number of scary conditions due to familial connections, so I tend to raise the alarm bells when things get a bit strange. And this is strange. I’ve had some issues with dry skin in the past, but nothing like this.
At this point, I’m not really worried, I just want to know what’s causing this because being itchy all the time is a real nuisance. That being said, I saw that episode of House where a young woman, probably in her early thirties, shows up in the clinic to get a pesky cough checked out for medical clearance to start a new job. She feels fine, she just has a cough. Too bad for her, a plain ol’ chest x-ray reveals numerous scary tumours in her lungs, and the diagnosis is horribly advanced, untreatable, terminal lung cancer.
Hm. It’s best not to think of that. I’m younger than her… I’m fine. All my tests came back normal less than three months ago. No need for fear or worry. It will be fine. It’s all fine. I’m fine!!! Seriously, it’s probably just a virus or something! I’m not actually that worried, and I am going to the doc for anything weird!!!

it does worry me a bit that your lymph nodes are swollen. Either you have an infection going on or a severe allergy to something. if it is hard to figure out they may have to do a biopsy from your lymph tissue to see whats going on. you mentioned about your family medical history,what type of conditions run in your family? In the mean time,try changing your diet a little or at least be aware..if your condition tends to worsen after eating certain foods or using certain lotions etc. just in case that is the cause of all this trouble.
