I mentioned that I was going to see Miami Vice last night..
That’s really all I have to say about it.. The plot sucked, the directing was horrible, and Colin Farrell looked like a pornstar out of the 80′s. It should have had more glitz and glamour, and not been so dark and gritty….
Snakes on a plane looks much better judging from the reviews!

Funny, Kaori, I always thought Colin Farrell looked like an 80s porn star in EVERY film he’s in. I read the reviews, and they always seem to mention the fact that this “remake” is darker and more serious than the TV show, and that Don Henley didn’t even bother to write a new song. By the way, who played “the black guy”?
Doesn’t it seem like Hollywood’s forgotten how to make a good action film anymore? I’m working on a screenplay for a motion picture right now – one that combines action, espionage, non-linear plot development and lesbian fisting. Let me know if you want in.
Hmmmm, I haven’t seen Miami Vice yet, but personally I was actually quite excited about the way mr. farrell looked (I like men with moustaches and (greasy) long hair, it’s got a sorta ‘sleazy’ charm). And of course, the incredibly attracitve Gong Li is in the movie.
Neckice: Jamie Foxx played the bad guy – I guess the director was really taken with him in collateral – which was a movie I really enjoyed!

although Brak wrote to you first (and not me as you posit in your response), I must say I found the TV show of Miami Vice rather dark and often alarming. I mean, come one, when Crockett and Stubbs were driving away at the end of the very forst episode to Phil Collins’ “in the air tonight”– woah! some SERIOUS shit there. And, who can forget the Glen Fry “smuggler’s blues” episode — the gritty underbelly of the Miami coke scene with Fry himself as a popper — dark. serious. shit.
My entire perception of the movie world has just fallen around my ears…Snakes on a Plane can’t be good…Miami Vice can’t be bad! NOOOOOOOOOOO! *Cries*
Ah well, at least I have Beerfest and Idlewild to look forward to…and both on my birthday! Woo-freakin-hoo!
