Anyways, like many Asians, I have some issues with lactose intolerance. Milk is the most troublesome, cheese and yogurt are just fine, ice cream is usually not a problem. Then again, maybe it’s just that I don’t like milk, so what appears to be a lactose intolerance is really psychosomatic…
At any rate, when soy milk hit the grocery store shelves some years ago, I was skeptical. Really? A drink made from soy? Really? Then I happened to smell some. Yup, definitely not having any of that.
I’ve been told, though, that soy beverages have come a long way from those early formulations. They’re even flavoured now – you can get chocolate, or vanilla, or strawberry, or if you really prefer, original, whatever that tastes like. My mother, who loves soy milk anyway, has repeatedly insisted that I should try the newer stuff, and that it tastes just great, and she’s sure I’ll like it.
So there I was at the grocery store today, standing in front of the dairy case, cautiously eyeing the shelves lined with soy milk. There were sale tags up in front of one of the brands.
I decided to give it a try.
Back at home, I got out a mug, and poured out a teensy tinsy little sip’s worth of soy milk. I looked at it. It sure didn’t look that appetizing. I sniffed it. Well, it didn’t smell like that awful stuff I smelled years ago. In fact, it smelled pretty nice – a marshmallowey vanilla scent. I took the sip.

Im not a big fan of drinking milk either. I would rather get my calcium from cheese & ice cream. And soy,yuck! About your dreams,post some excerpts from your dream journal.
