Anyways, I’m not sure why, but it seems like I’m always getting little mysterious cuts and bruises, with no recollection of when or how the injury was sustained. I’ll wake up and go Hm, where’d that little dark spot on my leg come from? or I’ll be doing something and suddenly feel a sharp sting on my hand, take a closer look, and realize there’s a little paper cut there, at which point I’ll wonder how long that’s been there because whatever I’m doing at the time when I notice, I’m nowhere near any paper.
Maybe, though, this is a phase I’ve been stuck in for several years now that is passing. As of this moment, I know where all my owies came from. That tender spot on the palm of my right hand where my ring finger connects is from vacuuming this morning. The stingy little cut on the knuckle of my right thumb was sustained while breaking down boxes for recycling a couple of days ago – I thought I stopped the motion in time to avoid getting a cardboard cut, but I was wrong…. 0_o
Or maybe I know the source of these owies because the sore spot is a recurring vacuum-related thing, and the pain of the cardboard cut registered at the moment it was sustained. Mystery ouchies, then, might be the result of moments of complete inattention. X_x
