While I do enjoy what I do, I don’t necessarily enjoy the actual doing of it.
Does that make any sense? It doesn’t look very clear when I reread what I’ve typed there.
What I mean is that I am happy with what I do for a living – sure, I’m given to occasional fantasies about how my life would be different if I had set myself off on a different career path, but that typically only happens when I’m thinking about an approaching deadline. I enjoy most of the activity involved in what I do, and the stuff that I like doing less doesn’t make me want to throw myself from a rooftop.
Today, though, I sat down to start in on some real slog work, and after about 45 minutes’ worth? Wow. Cleaning toilets is starting to look more appealing than slogging through all of this. The worrisome bit is the volume I have to sift through, and how much I got through in that 45 minutes. Here’s a hint – it wasn’t lots.
Am I worried? Well. Not that worried yet, I guess. I’m not panicking at this point. After all, I should be able to really grind away tomorrow and the next day, and Friday as well. Thursday I have an eye appointment, so my day is interrupted by that, but I should still manage a few productive hours.
Yuck….

Completely understand about the slogging through your day, and it sounds like the work you have to do sucks. I had the same problem… but what i found was that by making sure I get 5 mintues each hour to do something entirely different, I’m more able to focus for the other 55 minutes.

Full of flavor for one.
It does lack the substance of the meat patty, but, otherwise it has a wide array of flavor.
I prefer it with cheese tho, but I kinda wish McDs could substitute the meat for a veggie patty for substance purposes like BK can (they have the BK Veggieburger), but oh well.
I don’t usually feel as though I’m missing out on flavor though.
