Anyways, I like stickers.

Well, not all stickers. I don’t like the ones with the cheesy messages on them, like “Awesome!” or “Well done!” I also don’t care much for overly girly stickers – you know, the sparkly butterflies, or the prismatic ribbons.

When I was younger – like, 12 – I used to hoard stickers. Every time I went out shopping with friends, we’d always make a stop in a little stationery or arts and crafts shop, and I’d peruse the collection of stickers on the roll, make a selection, and buy myself a little square with four or five stickers on it. Then, I’d take them home, and put them in my little sticker box – a small plastic box full of these little sticker sampler squares. I’d never use any of them though – I was paralyzed with this fear that once I used them for something, I’d no longer have them for use on another project. So I just hung on to them, and every time I was out shopping, I’d bring home a new square to add to the collection. I realized the folly of this when one day I decided to use some to decorate a birthday card, only to discover that the adhesive on the backs had long dried out, so that the stickers no longer stuck.

About a month ago, I was at Staples, and I saw a super value packet of stickers – little happy smiley faced stars in rainbow colours. Not in the sense that each star had a rainbow on it, but in the sense that when you look at the sheet, each colour of the rainbow is represented. The packet contained 800 of these cheery guys, and was priced at $3.29 before tax. So I bought one. Now I’m really itching to use them. The fridge is looking like a mighty good candidate for some rainbow star decoration!!!
