Bleh.. it’s the first of the month…

And that month is September. The back-to-school season of fall is upon us! Yikes! O_o

I used to love back to school season when I was younger. Well. I liked it a lot. The new school year holds so much promise, so much potential. That and I got to get new school supplies. ^_^ New binders, new scribblers, new pencils and erasers, which later turned into new pens. Even new looseleaf paper got me happy. So perhaps it’s not surprising that I’ve been fighting an urge to run out and buy some new pens lately, in spite of the fact that I rarely use pens anymore! I may have to give in to the urge, though. I haven’t bought new pens in ages!

There are other good things about this season though. You get to switch from sandals to shoes and boots, and you get to start pulling out cozy shirts and sweaters and pants. Jackets and coats start working their way out of closets, along with scarves. It’s like getting a whole new wardrobe!

The downside of all this pseudo-newness is that the temperature is dropping. O_o And all the leafy trees start losing their leaves, which is beautifully colourful right up until the leaves start to actually drop. Then it gets rather sad-looking rather quickly – all the skeletal tree remains, ready for winter. Don’t get me wrong… I like winter as much as is healthy. It’s just a bit sad to see all the naked trees around – what was once mighty and proud is transformed into spindly and stark.

Luckily summer technically gets to stick around for another 20 days or so.
